This is a 154 page book or manual describing how the authors manage sexual offenders in the community of southern Oregon. This Practitioner’s Guide follows what is called the Containment Approach to manage sexual offenders as endorsed by the American Probation and Parole Association, American Polygraph Association and by the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Offenders. The authors, Edson, Lundell and Robinson represent community corrections, polygraph examiners and sex offender therapists, the primary partners in the Containment Approach. The Containment Approach is a team effort or partnership between community corrections, polygraph examiners and sex offender therapists that has proven effective in managing sexual offenders in the community. The Practitioner’s Guide is practical and “hands on” as well as being comprehensive with theory and research. A CD-ROM is included with forms which agencies and providers can edit, add logs, etc, then print and use in their programs.
